Could Doug Gottlieb Be The Next K-State Coach?

With Frank leaving for South Carolina (which seems dumb to me) the search for the next K-State mens basketball coach is on. One late entry in the last few days is ESPN personality Doug Gottlieb. Gottlieb was a high school all american and played at Oklahoma State (after a brief stint at Notre Dame). Doug doesn’t have any coaching experience although being a point guard I’m sure he has played the role of coach on the floor over the years. His father Bob Gottlieb was a coach (including two years at K-state as an assistant to Jack Hartman) and still runs a skills academy. His brother Gregg is an assistant at Cal.
Doug is interested in the job and thinks K-State is a great place that you can win at. He was on the 810 earlier (listen to the 26 minute interview here) where he talks about how he would go about things.
There is a rally tomorrow (saturday the 31st) in front of the Ernie Barrett statue at Bramladge aka the Octagon of Doom at 1pm to support the Gottlieb hiring and also http://hiregottlieb.com/ and people are using the hashtag #Gottlieb4KSU on their tweets that want him to come here. Currie is actually in New Orleans for the final four but the rally is to let the administration know who you support for the next coach.
And a quick note about this tumblr i haven’t been updating a ton but in the process of breaking it away from my entertaining things tumblr and will prob have to shut this one down and then make a new one but I’m in that process and once thats done ill update more. So keep an eye out for that.
